Materials & Method

The stone matters.
So does everything under it.

We source regionally, install deliberately, and return to seal. Most contractors finish and disappear. We come back 28 days later.

Pennsylvania Bluestone

Hand-split and thermal-finished. The blue-grey surface weathers to a warm silver over decades, and the stone is dense enough to hold heat well into the evening.

Frost-resistant to −40°F

Tumbled Travertine

Tumbled to soften edges and expose natural pitting. Warm ivory and walnut tones that photograph beautifully at any hour. Sealed to resist staining from food and fire ash.

Non-slip even when wet

Reclaimed Fieldstone

Every piece carries 150 years of weathering. We source from farms clearing old boundary walls. No two walls look the same — the variation is the point.

Carbon-neutral sourcing

Jointing Technique

We sweep dry-mix mortar into joints on cool mornings only — never in direct sun. The mix cures slowly, preventing shrinkage cracks that turn a 10-year patio into a 3-year repair.

Base Preparation

8 inches of compacted crushed stone base, graded 1/8 inch per foot toward drainage. Most failures happen under the stone, not in it. We spend two days on what you'll never see.

Curing & Sealing

Natural stone is sealed 28 days after installation — not before. We return. The sealer penetrates rather than sits on the surface, so it won't peel, cloud, or trap moisture.
